The 17th show vehicle in the “Tune it safe” campaign is a VW ID. Buzz – of course with a comprehensive tuning package contributed by professional Irmscher, and of course with the premiere at the Essen Motor Show 2023 (December 1st to 10th). “Show off in police garb,” a colleague from AUTO ZEITUNG put it so aptly in 2021, which can also be transferred 1:1 to the electric bus from Volkswagen. The symbol for road-safe and compliant tuning, supported by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), the Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT) and Hankook, among others, has the original police look, but also a stylish tuning robe.

Irmscher gives the VW ID. Buzz has a front spoiler lip, side skirts that visually bring the van closer to the ground, a rear apron extension and an aerodynamic roof spoiler. Wheels in Hydra Star design measuring 8 × 20 inches at the front and 9.5 × 20 inches at the rear are equipped with 235/50 tires at the front and 265/45 tires at the rear from Hankook.

Thanks to a suspension spring set for a depth of 25 to 30 mm, the rims sit much tighter in the wheel arch. Nothing is known about the drive technology of the “tune it safe” campaign car. The VW bus is factory-equipped with a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor on the rear axle, which enables a 0-100 sprint in 10.2 seconds. The 77 kWh battery (net) provides a range of around 400 km.
